Netflix has announced immediate price rises for UK customers, confident that users will stick around.

- Standard ad-free plan increases by 18%
- Customers who have switched to cheaper ad-free plan to keep costs down face 20% increase.
After previous price rises and clamping down on account sharing didn’t dampen subscriber numbers, Netflix is confidently introducing another sudden price rise in the UK, following recent moves in other countries.
The growing number of users that have opted to switch to the cheaper ad-supported price tier will also be asked to pay more, with an inflation-busting price rise of 20%. Standard without ads increases by 18%. The Premium service only increases by 5.56%, mirroring similar price rises announced by broadband and mobile companies where customers on cheaper price plans face the biggest percentage increases.
