POOR PICTURE ON ITV HD PANASONIC - PROBLEM SOLVED! (Older Freesat Issues)

On 8 November 2022 the HD version replaced the SD version on Freesat channel 117.

If you have a Panasonic Freesat Device and are having problems with signal / image breakup on selected channels such as ITV3/4 This little tip might help you

Most Panasonic Freesat recorders are over 10 years old now, and are starting to show issues over various types but this problem can be worked around with the tweek as laid out below.

HOW TO REDUCE IMAGE BREAKUP ON OLDER PANASONIC FREESAT DEVICES

When no programmes are set to record during the next 10 minutes, turn on your equipment and select any channel. Now do this:>

FUNCTION MENU > OTHERS > SET-UP > TUNING > OTHER SATELLITE TUNING MENU > DISH SET-UP > OK > LNB LOW BAND FREQUENCY

(It is probably set to 9750).

Now type in this number to change it to 9758. EXIT.

You will now find that Blaze (162) , Al Jazeera (203) & Bloomberg (208) will take a few seconds to lock on and may not appear in bad weather.

However, Bloomberg is available in HD if you scan in channels in non Freesat mode via the Tuning menu.

(No vision is available at present on Al Jazeera HD via non Freesat mode).

In the unlikely event that Panasonic actually come up with a software fix for the break up issue with ITV HD, you might like to reverse the procedure.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, THIS IS FREE ADVICE AND YOU SHOULD ASSESS YOUR OWN SKILL LEVEL BEFORE CARRYING THIS OUT.
