Where does freesat signal come from?
Freesat broadcasts from the same fleet of satellites (Astra 28.2°E) as Sky. Channels are broadcast using DVB-S (and DVB-S2 for HD)
Freesat Channels are broadcast Free-to-Air, open and Unencrypted and can be received on FREESAT Branded equipment, SKY Branded Boxes & Generic boxes such as Techno mate.
Choose by signal source, not just the box name
For satellite TV, compare the dish-based Freesat options. For aerial reception, use a Freeview model. For internet-delivered live TV without a dish or aerial, consider a Freely streamer. Apps and recording features vary by device.
