Userbands - Basics for Setting up a Freesat Box in a Shared Building
Share
This information is for the Arris UHD / 4K Freesat Boxes
If you live in a shared block of apartments or flats, or even some modern blocks of housing, your satellite connection might use something called a MDU/MDU 2 in most cases you can simply plug in your box and it will automatically select the best possible setup.
If you experience issues you may need to speak to your managing agency or whoever manages the communal system in your building.
They will provide you with the user band details for you to setup, its some numbers and frequency details you have to input to your box.
Basically start setting up your box as normal, and when the box starts to search for a satellite signal, it will fail and ask you an extra question "Manually Enter Userband"
At this point just select this option and enter the information you have been given by your landlord / building manager, then continue the install process, it should (if the settings are correct) continue the rest of the way as normal.
