It is a 2 channel freesat recorder which has worked flawlessly for many, many years. Just recently it has been blanking out for 0.5 - 2 seconds every so often (sometimes after every 10 seconds or so and then not again for some longer period). After the picture returns it appears to pick up the picture and sound from where it left off.
what can I do?
My suggestion before you sent it to us is to try a few tests and checks to make sure it is the box and not the cables or TV thats is the issue.
1. try a different hdmi or scart cable and a different socket on the TV for this cable
2. try all the video output settings on the box to see if any of them are more stable than others
3. test the box on another TV if possible
4. look at your satellite signal Q/S from the box menu, is it over 50%, and reading GOOD to GREAT? anything less would be an issue
5. check all your cables and leads for damage or wear, both inside and outside the house (satellite feed cables)
