STUCK ON RED -SKY HD+ RESET
First Step To fix a Sky+HD box stuck on standby, perform a hard reset and system software update by unplugging the unit, holding the physical backup button on the box while reconnecting the power, and waiting for the download mode lights to appear.
Power Cycle and Reset Steps
- Unplug your Sky+HD box from the wall mains socket.
- Wait at least 30 seconds to let the internal power drain completely.
- Press and hold the backup button located on top of the Sky+HD box (do not use the remote control).
- Keep holding the backup button, then plug the power cable back into the wall socket.
- Continue holding the backup button for about 30 seconds until you see all four lights on the front panel light up.
- Release the button. The box enters download mode and displays an on-screen software update message.
- Wait roughly 15 minutes for the update to finish, then press the Sky button on your remote once the box returns to standby.
